Tadika St. Thomas’s Cathedral Kuching was founded in January 1958. The kindergarten was started by a missionary, Miss Johnson. The then single storey wooden building housing the kindergarten was sited near the St. Thomas’s Cathedral Kuching.
The 1st Board of Management was headed by the then Dean, the late Bishop Datuk Made Katib, assisted by Vice Chairman Mrs. Roslind Chin, Secretary Mr. William Lee, Treasurer Mr. Matthew Soo, Auditor Mr. Dick Law and few other members.
The kindergarten was later shifted to the compound of St. Thomas’ Secondary School sited at the end of the road. It was a double storey building which house the many classes, a library, a staff room and a play room.
There is a big playground for the children to do outdoor activities and exercise. The compound is equipped with swings, monkey-bars and many others.
